Kicking BBQ Sauce

1 large Onion roughly chopped
3 cloves of garlic minced
4 cups of Ketchup
1/2 cup of white Vinegar
1/8 cup of Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup of Brown sugar
1/2 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Salt
1/4 small can of Tomato paste
1/4 cup of whiskey – use a good whiskey, it will make the difference

Sauté onion, garlic and whiskey until the onions are soft. Add the rest of the ingredients and boil for a couple of minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for twenty minutes, stirring frequently. Sauce can be served as is or strained.
